Thanks to recent improvements in the new iPhone OS3 and Google Sync (which now supports MS Exchange), you can sync up to 24 SmartTime Calendars (12 for Events, 12 for Tasks) via Google Calendar, directly to your iPhone Calendar. All Event Alerts that you create in SmartTime as “Pop up on Google Calendar” get automatically transferred over to the iPhone Calendar as pop-up alerts with sound. These work better than Push because you don’t need to be connected to the internet to receive the alert (as long as you sync’d), and if you are traveling overseas, you will not get charged for SMS pop-ups from Google. Here’s how you do it: Read more…
SmartTime is the only iPhone organizer that finds time for your tasks and organizes them for you, but did you know that you can also move all tasks manually, create a record of when each task completed, then choose how to archive them?

Did you know that you can use SmartTime to organize your tasks in Google Calendar?
Just create tasks in your Google Calendar “task calendars” (these are calendars that are mapped to SmartTime Task projects), sync to SmartTime, and SmartTime will do the re-organizing for you. Read more here:

With SmartTime 3.0, you can create tasks in any of your task calendars in Google Calendar, then sync them back to SmartTime. This saves time if you are sitting at your desk and want to type faster or create a stream of new tasks for a project. These screen shots show how. I just wanted to let you know that we are on track for some major improvements in performance in SmartTime +, version 3.1 In particular, we have improved the time to switch between views; the time to switch from Smart to Calender or Day view has been cut in half. Also, the time to switch from portrait mode (Smart, Calendar or Focus) to landscape mode (Week or Month) has been reduced to less than 2 seconds, after the first time you switch views. We are also adding a feature that ‘remembers’ which of the two landscape views you were last in - week or month. So the next time you turn your iPhone sideways from portrait to landscape, you will go immediately to the view that you were last in. Finally, the performance of selecting days in Month view is now instantaneous.
These may look like small improvements - no new features added - but we believe they will make SmartTime much easier to use. We will submit SmartTime+ 3.1 to the app store after testing, probably on June 22.
Note on June 17 we already submitted SmartTime+ 3.0.1 which is designed to run on the new iPhone OS3. It has the added improvement of an almost instantaneous start-up, much faster than any of the other calendar or task apps that we compared it to.
Hi folks,
We have submitted SmartTime 3.0 to the App Store. This represents a major upgrade because it includes two unique new calendar views: Week and Month.
Highlights:
- From any standard view - Smart, Calendar, or Focus - just turn your iPhone sideways to see Week View.
- From Week View, tap on the Month to show the Month view.
- From Month View, tap on the Week Number to go back to Week view. Or turn the iPhone right-side up again, to return to one of the standard views.
- From Week or Month view, select a day. Turn the iPhone right-side up again, and you will automatically see that day shown in Calendar View. This is convenient for editing and moving tasks and events for specific days.
- Week View features “Time Finder” - you can see the used time, color coded for projects, for each day of the week. Great for setting up appointments.
- Month View features an independent Day View in list form (similar to Focus view). Just tap on a day in the month, and the Day View changes accordingly.
- Month View features “Life Balance” - the darker the background color of the day, the more “Busy time” you have from meetings.
- From Week or Month views, tap on the Day/Date bar to quickly (a) Add a new Task or Event, (b) Apply a Filter, or (c) Jump to a specific Date.
We have also made significant improvements to the reliability of our Google Calendar sync feature.
We are pleased to announce that we submitted SmartTime 2.3 to the App Store on March 1. Hopefully it will be approved soon. Originally intended as a fix for some of the Google™ sync bugs, we also added in a few cool features that actually make this a major upgrade. You will probably be most excited about Weekly View, so let me first say that this is just an Open Beta - which means, you don’t have to use it and its inclusion does not affect overall performance or stability of SmartTime.
